Our Grammar I program welcomes children ages 4-6 with a parent one morning a week to a warm, inviting classroom setting. We meet from 9:00-12:30. The children will be exposed to the same concepts and skills that Grammar students are learning with an emphasis on the Tour Three (Renaissance through the Modern Era ending with 9/11). Saints, Geography, Art, and Science, as well as repeated opportunities for your child to participate in show-and-tell to prepare for presentation time that occurs in the Grammar levels. Parents will have the opportunity for fellowship and support from other parents of young children as they observe their child in class and lend a helping hand when needed.
Children experience cooperative play and music each session. They will focus on letter recognition through crafts and manipulatives, calendar and weather, and catechism with an emphasis on the liturgical calendar and devotion to Our Lady through the Rosary.
The Grammar I class celebrates All Saints Day with costumes and backyard carnival games. Grammar I families also celebrate the feast days of St. Nicholas and St. Valentine, and our annual Mardi Gras pancakes and potluck, along with families enrolled in the Grammar II/III through Rhetoric classes.
